Many of our customers have asked if we can manage their air freight business as well as their European road freight business. Up until the end of 2012, whilst we were able to do this, it was not an area in which we held the level of specialist knowledge necessary to perform such movements to a standard akin to our core services and company ethos. Realising that this was a hole in our portfolio, steps were taken to employ experienced personnel in this field, and during 2013 our modal expansion began.
As our European road freight services were almost as quick as air freight, considering the destinations, it has hardly been of any benefit to our clients to consider air freight. But farther afield, when opening up the rest of the world, the need to utilise air freight becomes a necessity for those shipments that simply cannot wait.
Access to direct airline flights as well as consolidation services enable us to provide the level of urgency that may from time to time be required. Furthermore, with a wide choice of carrier, we are able to provide cost-effective solutions balanced against levels of urgency.
Mr Denton, I am writing to thank you for your company’s help in bringing a valuable (to us at least) new machine from Italy to our factory in Derbyshire. I must praise Kurtis for his dedication and sheer persistence in dealing with all the problems the shipment encountered; dodgy height measurements, broken trailer roofs, French ports, delayed sailings and a customer who didn’t really know what was doing but wanted to know everything. He was professional throughout and made sure we got our delivery as soon as was possible. In an age where people are often quick to criticise and slow to praise please pass on my thanks to Kurtis.
