The Balearic Islands

The Balearics are a group of islands in the Mediterranean sea near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The four largest islands are Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza & Formentera, and we serve these via our road freight service to Barcelona. Much of the business to these islands is seasonal, and with this in mind our services are more frequent during the peak season from May to October, and less frequent outside of this period.

  • From Manchester we provide departures every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday to Barcelona where on-carriage is arranged by our partners in Barcelona
  • Peak season between May an October we offer a daily service from Barcelona and a transit time UK to delivered of between 6-7 days
  • Off peak, the service from Barcelona is alternate days resulting in a transit time from the UK to delivered of 7-8 days

A couple of things to note are that the majority of companies in the Balearics do not own a fork lift truck so many deliveries need to be made with a tail lift vehicle equipped with a hand pump truck which can be provided at an additional cost. As the islands are Spanish owned, and therefore part of the European Union, there are usually no customs formalities to undertake.

Furthermore, as much of the merchandise transported consists of foodstuffs, clients wishing us to transport dangerous goods should allow an additional day or two in case of compatibility issues at the Spanish end.
