Italy, Sicily & Sardinia

Being the initial reason for the foundation of the company, our driver accompanied road freight transport service to and from Italy has grown from strength to strength. Having been involved in the Italian market since 1989, I felt the need for a specialist who was not just competent in its ability to provide high quality logistics, but who also considered each client’s individual requirements. And so, Ital Logistics was born.

Our export service operates most days from Manchester and Essex, in the main independently, the fixed Groupage departures of Tuesday, Thursday & Friday making up most of the movements. Full loads can be managed any day, but for groupage movements, with extraneous driving restrictions in place, there is little point in a daily service, even though, more often than not, we fill in the gaps with a total at present of circa 10-15 trailers each week.

Our import service, however, with the exception of some Monday’s, is daily. Whilst covering the whole of Italy, most groupage cargoes are loaded via our partner’s Milan or Verona depot, where we make upwards of 15-20 Groupage trailers per week.

In additional to handling dangerous goods in scope of ADR/IMDG on most of the trailers, we are also able to manage temperature controlled cargo, even including dangerous goods.

Our partner in Italy

ITX Cargo began in January 1998 with its head office in Milan. Its aim was to create a well structured company from highly qualified personnel, specialising in the transportation of groupage, partial and full loads between Italy and the Scandinavian countries. Starting with Sweden, by the end of their first year of activity, the Company had commenced direct departures also to Norway, Denmark and Finland, thereby completing its goal to attain a full complement of services between Scandinavia and Italy.

Towards the end of 1998, the Company’s connection to the UK began. Having worked closely together to establish the service between Italy and the UK in previous employment during a two year period, the transition to Ital Logistics in August 2000 was seamless, and the service continues to grow. With neither of us standing still, ITX Cargo has continued to expand. In 2001 they opened an office in Verona, primarily handling Scandinavian traffic, but from April 2004 also offering direct departures to the UK.

Additional services have been added to their portfolio as the years have passed. Their continued growth is testament itself to the high level of customer satisfaction and quality of service which they provide, substantiated by recently achieving ISO 9001 accreditation.
